[edit] Route description
Route 5B is a "V"-shaped route that links NY 12B to NY 5 from the areas of Kirkland and New Hartford.
Beginning at the western terminus, the route travels to the southeast, meeting NY 12B midway between New Hartford and Clinton. The two routes then form a duplex eastward for less than 200 yards before NY 5B splits from the concurrency and travels north. The route takes on a northeast routing as it heads toward its eastern terminus on the Seneca Turnpike (NY 5).
