New York State Route 12C was a state highway contained within Oneida County. A spur route of NY 12, it ran from Utica at the terminus of NY 5S, at a triplex involving NY 5/NY 8/NY 12. I-790 also ends at this point.

NY 12C followed what is now NY 5A westward from Utica as Oriskany Boulevard, toward nearby Yorkville. From there, Oriskany Boulevard headed following what is now NY 69 toward Rome. In Whitestown, the route then turned more northward, following what is now NY 291. Much of NY 291 still bears reference markes for NY 12C. At Stittville, 12C joined NY 365 through the town of Trenton, eventually terminating at the duplex of NY 12/NY 28 in Barneveld.[1]

It is not known if NY 5A or NY 69 were duplexed with NY 12C, or if NY 5A was created when NY 12C was decommissioned, and/or if NY 69 ended at it's current junction with NY 291. Reference markers lead credence that NY 69 continued at least as long as its current western terminus, perhaps all the way to the NY 5/NY 8/NY 12 triplex.[2]
