New York Life Building, Montreal

New York Life Building was erected in 1888. It was the tallest commercial building in Montreal at the time. The first 8 storeys of the 11 storey building consists of office space. The building was built by architects Babb, Cook and Willard and contractor Peter Lyall for the New York Life Insurance Company as their offices in Canada.

The remaining three storey consist of the clock tower on the top of the building. This building is another example of the early skyscrapers of Montreal.
