New White Sneakers

New White Sneakers is a band from Adelaide, South Australia, with a soul/funk/latin/dance sound.
They are an original eight-piece funk outfit who have played around venues in South Australia and Victoria such as Cargo Club, Garage, Rhino Room, The Crown and Sceptre, Rocket Bar, the Espy and the Evelyn (Vic) just to name a few.
Although the band has been dubbed a funk band, throughout its history New White Sneakershas explored many different genres – from house, hip hop, soul, breaks and even rock.
From 2003 to 2006, the band supported the likes of Blackalicious, Crazy Penis, Ian Pooley, and Miguel Migs in Adelaide during their Australian tours. In Feb 2004, New White Sneakers released its self-titled EP, produced by Australian Recording Industry Association ARIA Award-winner Doug Brady. The EP is now also sold out of press. After taking almost a year off in 2004, the band returned in 2005 with a new line-up including the talented Lesley Williams on vocals and Dave Van der Zwaag on bass.
