New River (ward)

New River is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney and forms part of the Hackney North and Stoke Newington constituency. Consisting of an area of Stamford Hill the ward also incorporates the large council estate Woodberry Down currently under redevelopment.

The ward returns three councillors to Borough Council, with elections every four years. At the previous election on 4th May, 2006 Maureen Middleton, Harvey Odze, and Simche Steinberger all Conservative Party candidates, were returned.
