New Nationalist Party

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about the New Nationalist Party founded in the United Kingdom in the latter part of 2006. For the New National Party of South Africa, see here.

The New Nationalist Party is a small far right, anti-immigration party founded by disaffected members of the British National Party (BNP) in 2006. It is based in the West Midlands and its most prominent member is Sharon Ebanks, an erstwhile leading member of the BNP, and the person in whose name the NNP's internet domain name (nnp.org.uk) is registered.

The party was registered with the Electoral Commission on 11 December 2006 [1]. All three party officers listed were BNP candidates in Birmingham in the 2006 Local Elections

[edit] Policies

Unlike an earlier break-away, the England First Party, which supports English nationalism, the NNP remains supportive of British nationalism.

According to the NNP website [2] the party's policies include:

  • Increasing spending on the National Health Service, at the same time denying use of NHS facilities to foreign visitors who have not paid in advance for treatment.
  • Withdrawal from NATO and removal of British forces from Germany.
  • Preservation of the UK's nuclear weapon capability.
  • Imposition of a complete ban on immigration, and "repatriation" of people from "ethnic communities".

[edit] Current electoral representation

The NNP does not have any elected councillors or Members of Parliament, nor has it inherited any councillors who previously belonged to the BNP.
