New Hythe railway station

New Hythe railway station is on the Medway Valley Line in Kent, and serves New Hythe.
All train services are provided by Southeastern, who also manage the station. The typical off-peak service from New Hythe is two trains per hour to Maidstone West, with alternate trains extended to Paddock Wood, and two trains an hour to Strood, for connections to London.
Although the line – between Strood and Maidstone – on which New Hythe lies was completed in 1856, no trains called there until 1929, when a timber-built halt was opened to serve the huge paper mill complex which had established itself beside the line. The present, more substantial station was constructed in 1939, when the line was electrified.
