New End Primary School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New End Primary School is primary school in Hampstead. Its headteacher is currently Mrs Pamela Fitzpatrick.[1] It is a mixed non-religious school with a nursery attached to reception and has double-form entry, with each form having approximately 30 pupils. It is run by the government. [2]
It achieves above-national standards in its SATs tests and has on average good-excellent teaching. (see OFTSED report link, above, pages 6 and 7) However, punctuality and absences are unsatisfactory.
It is also criticised for failing to provide 'spiritual development' during assemblies (page 7 OFSTED report); however, in practice this means that the assemblies have moral, rather than spiritual content. Due to the various religious and cultural backgrounds in the school, assemblies are more focussed on broad moral messages.
Music is strong in the school, with extra curricular music lessons for children and an orchestra and choir led by the school music teacher. The school also hosts regular cakesales and a Christmas production every year.(for pictures see [3])
