New Canaan High School (NCHS) is the only public high school in New Canaan, Connecticut.
New Canaan High School's athletic mascot is the Ram. New Canaan's athletic teams, despite the relatively small size of the school, are regularly some of the best in Connecticut. Boys hockey, boys and girls tennis, and boys and girls lacrosse are some of its more successful squads. Its most successful squad in the past 5 years has been the Boys Swim Team, winning many consecutive state titles. New Canaan High School's arch-rival is Darien High School, located in neighboring Darien, CT.
New Canaan High School also has strong programs in the performing and visual arts. 48.3% of students of the Class of 2003 attending 4 year colleges were accepted to schools ranked by Barron's Guide to the Most Competitive Colleges as Most Competitive and Highly Competitive.
