Route 95 is a 14 km (9 mile) highway connecting the northern terminus of Interstate 95 at the Canada-United States border near Houlton, Maine to Route 2 (the Trans-Canada Highway) in Woodstock, New Brunswick, hence the number. Originally built as a two-lane road, Route 95 is in the process of being upgraded to a four-lane divided expressway, much like its US counterpart.

Route 95 was built in 1976 to replace the aging former Route 5 (now Route 555) as the main road between Woodstock and the border.
