[edit] Summary

The New Safe Confinement (NSC) is designed to replace the aging Object Shelter that was hastily built around the destroyed Unit 4 at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. The structures extending out of the North end of the West wall of the NSC (image left) are the fragmentation, decontamination, and auxilary buildings being built as part of the NSC construction. The building that protrudes from the South end of the West wall (image right) is the Turbine Hall for Unit #4.
