"Never Gonna Be the Same" is a reggae–dancehall song written by Sean Paul for his third album The Trinity (2005). It is the fifth international single taken from the album. It is a tribute to his murdered friend, Daddigon. It was a split single with "Give It up to Me", which was released in its place in the US. The single reached the top 10 in France upon its release. It was digitally released in the UK on 10th July 2006, with its physical release on 17th July 2006. The single peaked at #22 there, Paul's lowest chart peak there since the first release of "Gimme The Light".
This single is on the popular "Seasons" rhythm, a huge dancehall instrumental, on which other artists such as Morgan Heritage and TOK have recorded.
