Neve Sha'anan (Tel Aviv)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Neve Sha'anan (Hebrew: נווה שאנן) is a neighborhood in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is one of Tel Aviv's oldest neighborhoods.

It is also a major transportation hub, containing both the new and old Tel Aviv Central Bus Stations. A multitude of parking lots and car rental shops exist in Neve Sha'anan to compliment this.

Neve Sha'anan is also Tel Aviv's red-light district, with numerous brothels. As such, many foreign workers live or look for work in Neve Sha'anan, seen by the unusual public phones on Neve Sha'anan Street, advertizing cheap calls to countries such as China, Russia and Ukraine.

The neighborhood has been the site of four suicide bombing attacks since the onset of the al-Aqsa Intifada. [1] [2]
