Nevada Public Radio

Nevada Public Radio was founded in 1980 as a public corporation to operate publicly funded radio in Nevada. NPR operates 5 stations in Nevada, 1 station in Utah and 5 retransmitters.

From 1980 to 1999, the studios for NPR were in space donated by Sam Boyd in Sam's Town Casino.
KCNV signed on for the first time in 2003.
KWPR-FM goes on the air.
On November 1, 2005, KSUG-FM 90.3, the sixth station in the NPR family will begin broadcasting. The station is located in Saint George, Utah and will use an all-news format broadcasting with a 2,000 watt transmitter. The station will service south west Utah, western Arizona and adjoining areas of Clark County and Lincoln County, Nevada.
