[edit] Hangman Comics

If you want to make an article please go ahead and make one. The search system should not be a concern if you're making the article for the right reasons. Gazpacho 12:44, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Comic Articles

Please make sure that you complete an article, or add some useful information to it before you create more. Most of your comic articles have been flagged for speedy deletion due to their lack of content. It's great that you are contributing, but at the moment the articles you have created aren't very useful. They would be much more handy if you spent longer finshing one off, then starting the next one, rather than doing what you are at the moment. Thanks! The post in front was made by Popexvi 12:59, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Make them in your user area instead where you won't be disturbed. Like User:Neufen01/Jackpot Comics, etc. —Wknight94 (talk) 13:14, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Question - Article Deletion

Hi! Thanks for your question regarding your new articles and research. Although it is true the search engine takes some time to update, it seems likely to me that your articles have been deleted.

Thanks for creating articles and contributing to Wikipedia - but your article must provide some information on the subject matter, or it may be flagged for speedy deletion.

Of course it is OK to recreate your articles when you have done research - just try to put more information in them before leaving them for long periods of time. You can then add the Wikipedia:stub tag to encourage others to contribute as well.

Enjoy Wikipedia. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Black Hood.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Black Hood.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:05, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your comics articles and category creation

It's great to have someone with us who knows Golden Age comics and the pulps. However, you're indiscriminately creating categtories and doing them incorrectly, and at least one of your comics article, Timely Comics Index - All Winners, goes against several tenets of Wikipedia.

I urge you, please, very strongly, to use the links in the Welcome note above to read up on and learn Wikipedia policies, guidelines, editing style, etc. This includes providing image source URLs and other image information for copyright purposes. As it stands, a lot of editors and admins are having to do a lot of clean-up work. I know your intentions are good, but it's very important to know Wiki policies and guidelines before continuing. Thanks, and we look forward to your contributions then. -- Tenebrae 17:40, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry; I should have included this citation when I wrote the above. Here it is now: Per WP:CMC/EG: "Summarization should never be on a per-issue basis and should only outline the plot rather than describe minor details" and "Editors should keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a repository for plot summaries, annotated or otherwise". -- Tenebrae 18:13, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for responding. You can find out everything about category standard, conventions and procedures at Category:Wikipedia categorization, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (categories) and Wikipedia:Category deletion policy. I'd strongly recommend reading these and becoming familiar with Wikipedia categorization before adding categories; your fellow editors would appreciate it! Happy Wiki-ing, -- Tenebrae 20:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Black Hood Pulps

Could you explain what's going on with this article. Why are you blanking your own creation?--Konstable 11:26, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

If you want these articles deleting, blanking them WON'T HELP. There are other methods to delete them, but please explain what the issue is.--Konstable 11:27, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Response

RE: "I know that you want an article and not plot summaries..."

Please: I'm trying to assume good faith, but if you have read anything about contributing to Wikipedia, such as Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles or Wikipedia:The perfect article, you'd know that isn't my personal want or desire, but one of the basics of Wikipedia. A number of editors, as you can see, are taking time and trying to help, but there's a limit to what any of us can do if someone isn't willing to do the work and learn the basics. Please try to work with us — Wikipedia can be a valuable resource and a wonderful and fun volunteer effort. -- Tenebrae 14:08, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Also helpful: Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/editorial guidelines, which includes this: "Summarization should never be on a per-issue basis and should only outline the plot rather than describe minor details. Additionally, plot descriptions must include cited reference to critical analysis published in secondary sources". --Tenebrae 00:04, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:All Winners 5.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:All Winners 5.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
