Hi Everyone... I am setting up the portal somewhat along the lines of the Mathematics portal. However, I have one question... do we have to stick to the same template or can we be a little more innovative with our portal? One of the things I am thinking of is to have a series of small boxes on the top which will feature an article from 'molecular neuroscience', cellular neuroscience, computational neuroscience, developmental neuroscience, systems neuroscience and cognitive neuroscience. It will make this portal stand out a bit and will also be a good reminder of the breadth of topics involved here. What says?

- We can really do anything we want, while keeping the standard links to other portals— it is our portal. Oh and yes, that means I'm up for it. Most of the portals have been abandoned kind of, or updated every month. My updating the science portal, I think is totally fruitless. I'm eager to help out here. Did you get the "Science News" idea from me on the Science portal, or your own? — [Mac Davis] (talk) (Desk|Help me improve)

- YIPPPIEE! So happy that you here. I hoped to have friday evenings to add content to Neuroscience articles (which need a LOOT of improvement, I should say)...instead, all I do is try to do the weekly update on the portal. So how should we go about for this week's update(it is due by latest by tomorrow btw)? How shall we share duties and responsibilities?
- PS: I did steal from the Science portal among other portals --can't remember what I stole from where though! Shushruth 00:22, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Featured articles for week starting Nov 2
Hi! I have updated the news section for this week. Any suggestions on what we should do for featured article and featured picture? I propose that at least one of them have some relation to any of the news item. Shushruth 04:27, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- We should list featured images and articles on the talk pages of the section. — [Mac Davis] (talk) (Desk|Help me improve)

- Good idea. As of now, I am using only featured articles listed on the Project Neuroscience page. We have 12 there which should last us at least 2 months. By then, hopefully we can start working on one article a week and bring it to featured status. I have started a discussion for Collaboration of the Week kind so that maybe we can mobilize more neuroscience interested people. Shushruth \talk\contribs 21:39, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- If more than two people do it I think it would be fun! :) I have never done any research in neuroscience, have you? — [Mac Davis] (talk) (Desk|Help me improve)
- I am currently a second year grad student in neuroscience Shushruth \talk page \ contribs 02:40, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
