Neumagen-Dhron

Neumagen-Dhron is a village and a municipality in the district Bernkastel-Wittlich, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the river Moselle, approx. 15 km south of Wittlich and 20 km north-west of Trier.

Neumagen-Dhron has a centre that is very significant for the wealth of its wine merchants of former centuries. In Neumagen-Dhron (latin Noviomagus) there was found a sculpture of an antique roman ship transporting wine.

Neumagen-Dhron is also the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Neumagen-Dhron, which consists of the following Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"):

  • Minheim
  • Neumagen-Dhron
  • Piesport
  • Trittenheim
