- The REDSHIRT Series, 'Life Insurance' #1
- A southern California live action 'filmette/short' video series shot by the volunteers and Genovese Cine Productions 2000 [1]. This filmette series explores the TOS Redshirt_(character) traditions sometimes with comedic parody. **Two additional filmettes are in current production, titled "Our Honored Dead" and "Everyday". Its most memorable character is the lead fan actor playing the bewildered redshirt crewman by SFI member, Chris Esquibel. Max Cervantes, Mark Schuber, and Clif Gardner were some of the cast and J. Cole and J. Whiting crewed on this project. This video was an offcial USS Angeles club video project sponsored by the club's active production committee. This VHS tape series has been debuted at many major scifi conventions. Several west coast sci-fi conventions have screened this video. Some other events that screened this video are Shoreleave Con [2] in USA and the video has been premiered through European clubs like the International Science Fiction Federation [3]. It also has been entered and won several video competitions in the Los Angeles geographical area.
Scifi Modelers Club of New Zealand, Essex Productions, and Medalstone Pictures produced this live action video drama in New Zealand in 1993. It was called "Yesterday's Essex, Tomorrow's Command". This fan video takes place in the TNG age, but has a plot twist that allowed a full TOS Constitution Class bridge video set to be featured with Klingon and Ferengi plot complications. This story celebrates the constitution class starship enjoying it's centenary at planet Pastel 5, but a ship's distress call causes aliens to interfere. Some USS Essex video crewmembers are Internet available for their video production recollections by contacting them at their homewebsite [4]. Some this video's main production crew, including Philippa Boyens [5] moved into the professional film industry ranks by working on the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Some still photos are shared here from the show[6]. This USS Essex full TOS bridge is impressive and came well before Exeter's and New Voyages' bridge sets.

[edit] USS Angeles Star Trek Fan Videos
This southern California Star Trek club's 'video production committee' spent time and effort on making many Star Trek videos. USS Angeles club staff and members produced a series called "The Voyages of the USS Angeles". Some of these Star Trek VHS episode titles were 'Dreamers', 'Q In the Dark', 'Price of Duty' and 'A Little Night Music' ('98). One episode, 'A Little Night Music' ('98). This video featured the Baku race[9] threatened by a mysterious traveling temporal rift containing a new alien 'time explorer' race called, the Locurians. Some photos are shared here. [10]. This dramatic project of the TNG time period featured many fan club member volunteers as cast and crew. A. Genovese[11], a club member and pro-actor was asked to guest-star as the 'Locurian' alien explorer. Stories involved Star Trek's Deep Space Nine stations. The REDSHIRT Filmette Series' [12] and Areakt Productions first cast & crew grew out of this progenitor Los Angeles Fan club video series. These tapes are not currently available to the public on the Internet due to studio copyright re-use problems. These VHS videos are available to only club members and cast & crew for a small price.+++
