[edit] NetQoS Inc.
Overview
Austin Texas based company established in 1999 specializing in network monitoring and network performance management. NetQoS has been recognized as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Deloitte 2006 Technology Fast 500 list and is also listed as #43 in the Inc. 500 list. Company CEO, Joel Trammell recently won an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award. The company's clients include 8 of the Fortune 12 as well as more than 500 other enterprise and government customers worldwide. The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has named NetQoS' ReporterAnalyzer a Best Systems Management Solution finalist in its 21st Annual Codie Awards competition.
NetQoS gathers information from existing network routers and passively monitors network traffic and application response times. This approach is different from active monitoring which involves the use of agent software on client machines. Recently the company acquired Redpoint Systems Inc. which allows NetQoS to offer an SNMP polling product for device performance management.
