Description |
The ancient part of en:Nessebar, Bulgaria. Previously restricted to this island in the Black Sea and linked to the mainland by the man-made isthmus on the right of the picture, what can be found on the island now makes up less than half of modern Nessebar. The large dark shape near the mid-point of the isthmus is the town's famous windmill. Photograph taken shortly before sunset, June 2004, looking south from en:Sveti Vlas, approximately 10 km away.
