[edit] Sambo slur

Hello, I was wondering about your addition to the Sambo article about the precautions leaflet for earthquakes. I downloaded it, and it seemed that the imagery has been changed. Also, I don't understand what's so offensive about it, but I've grown up with this imagery in Europe, so I'm not particularly offended by the image in itself. (The black guy in the leaflet doesn't look much like the black guys you see in Tokyo, though.) If you have the alleged original, it would've been nice if you could upload it somewhere, or e-mail me at rippa at spray dot se , because it would be interesting to see all the changes. (Hmm, wondering if my nickname looks too silly to a REAL japanese speaker...

I'll see if I can find a copy of the original, as there were a few questionable images in there, from the big and pronounced lips, to black women dressed up like Aunt Jemima. I'll try to take a look on the internet archives to see if they have last year's copy cached.
Thanks, I should try to do that, myself, as well... Did it have any other "questionable" material than the images, themselves?
Just the fact that all the black people in the manual were golliwogged and made to look like hulking brutes. I was just watching a game show here in Japan yesterday when they had a drawing of international students in a classroom and the black kid had the "sambo" style lips while the other kids were drawn normally.
Yeah. It appears to be stereotyping, but I don't know what the intent is. Maliciousness, lazyness, something else? Have there been any vociferous criticism by the black minority in Japan? (As a sidenote, how often do you see black women in Japan? I think I have only seen one during my six weeks stay, and I just thought it was interesting... ) Anyway, I tried to look up the pdf on archive.org, but when I found the link I hoped should work, I got redirected to a newer edited copy. I managed to see some of the changed pics, though. If we'd really like a copy of the old pdf, I think we could possibly e-mail the illustrator "Bonten Yumeno" at http://www.ask.ne.jp/~yumeno/html/c.html , but it's possible that he's too sick and tired of the affair to want to be of any help. Anyway, you speak Japanese, so if you're interested, I leave it up to you.

[edit] Lex Luger

I am always signed in. the fact is that Luger's height as been set at 6 ft 4 in for a while, and it is vandalism to revert it without discussion. It would prolly help if you weren't childish in your edit summaries too, just a helpful reminder.(Halbared 10:53, 29 August 2006 (UTC))

How about "I don't know!!!" and Luger's tight shirt. Those were both done under your watch as well. And when you put that in, it makes the "true" statements suspect.

[edit] Koriki

Do you really think Koriki resembles Riki?! I've never even thought about him that way before, and I've never heard anyone state any resemblance either.  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  07:44, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

If you take a look at his unbearded pictures [1], they do share a resemblance. That is one of the selling points of the gimmick. He just didn't pull a wrestler's name out of a hat when he donned the tights and the too short shirt. Do you think he would have tried adding on Antonio Koinoki if he didn't have a resemblance to Inoki? Neoyamaneko
I don't know. I'm not disagreeing with you, but I never really thought of him in that way. He's rarely (if ever) referred to as a monomane geinin, and they were just nori ni notteta with the whole Antonio Koinoki thing; that guy was doing Inoki "impressions" long before Koriki was popular, and he's still doing them now (by himself). I also assumed not that he pulled Riki's name out of a hat, but that he chose him because he liked him, and he was an easy target for his act. That's not Wikipedia material mind you!  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  06:03, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nice to meet you

Hello, Mr. Neoyamaneko. My name is Hatto. I live in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Please answer to me in Japanese language if you can speak Japanese and can write Japanese character by using your computer because it's easy for me to speak Japanese. I have a request to you. Its request is article's expansion! I really thank you because you often improve and update Bobby Ologun's article. --Hatto 04:31, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

--Hatto 11:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
(ご自身で見つけたウェブサイトからの情報を自由自在に書き込んで頂いてももちろん結構ですよ!)--Hatto 08:40, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
--Hatto 13:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
--Hatto 14:00, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Dingdongs.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dingdongs.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:04, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi Neoyamaneko!

I appreciate that you contribute to the Mushiking english article here at Wikipedia. I will do my best in sharing information about this game (same goes for Dinosaur King and Oshare Majo: Love and Berry).

I'm actually a rookie in Wikipedia as well. However, there are two things I wish to ask of you:

  • Why is Daisharin = Cartwheel? The Daisharin card in english reads as "Daisharin", not cartwheel.
  • That Adder Collection you recenly added, where is the "A" in the card?

At this rate, we may have to make a "table" in showing the progress of the version availability of Mushiking. What do you think?

Nice to meet you as well! :D

Daisharin means "Cartwheel" in Japanese. Since nearly all the other cards were translated to English, I decided to do it for that one too. As for the "A" in the Adder Collection, it is situated next to the numerical designation. Neoyamaneko
Well, that card spells out "Daisharin" in the english card. I'll make changes since that's what it says in the card. It is okay if we create a table for the cards with their English and Japanese names (in actual Japanese)? It's just a suggestion. As for the Adder collection, I will re-check the current Adder Collection on how the format looks like. Mushiking
Sounds fair. I'm sure the Japanese is easily found on the Japanese wiki. It's just a matter of cut and paste.
