Nek Bwau'tu is the Bothan commander of the Fifth Fleet of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force.With the rank of admiral, he commands the Fifth Fleet, and for good reason. Admiral Bwau'tu is famous for defeating the Thrawn Simulator every time. His flagship was the Admiral Ackbar, which was later captured by Gorog, or the Dark Nest. With the help of Jedi Leia Solo and Master Sebatyne, the Admiral was able to hold off the Killiks so that most of the crew could evacuate the Ackbar. Though at first weary of "Jedi Sorcery", the admiral grew to respect the Force and the Jedi.

Admiral Bwau'tu is related to Captain Wurf'al, as he is Wurf'al's mothers's uncle. Wurf'al later died at the hands of killik assassins. Other than Captain Wurf'al and his mother, there are no other known relatives of Admiral Bwau'tu.
