Neil Sperry

Neil Sperry is a Texas gardening and horticulture expert known for his books, magazine, radio program, and annual gardening show.

Sperry was born and raised in College Station, Texas. He temporarily attended Texas A&M University there, but earned his degree in horticulture from Ohio State University.

Sperry's books include Neil Sperry's Complete Guide to Texas Gardening and 1001 Most Asked Texas Gardening Questions.

Sperry also publishes Gardens magazine, a bi-monthly publication started in 1987, in which he writes about gardening trends and answers questions from readers.

Sperry has hosted 'Texas Gardening', a radio talk show on which he answers questions from callers, since May 1980. This program airs every Saturday and Sunday morning on KRLD 1080 and over 60 other stations within Texas. Sperry was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2003.

Additionally, Sperry holds an annual "All Texas All Garden Show" each February at the Arlington Convention Center in Arlington, Texas.
