Neil Danns (born November 23, 1982, in Liverpool, England) is a professional footballer, currently playing for Championship side Birmingham City.

After starting off his football career as a trainee at Blackburn Rovers, Danns moved south to Colchester United. It was with the U's that Neil really started to make a name for himself. He quickly established himself as a firm fans' favourite, with the affable Scouser showing complete passion and dedication to the cause. Whilst at Layer Road, Danns contributed greatly to the club's promotion to the Championship in 2006. His contribution had been recognised by many higher-profile clubs, and was subsequently linked with a number of teams in the summer of '06.

On June 19, 2006, Danns completed a £500,000 move to Birmingham City. Despite admitting that he "had a great time" at Colchester, he emphasised that "when a club the size of Birmingham come in for you, it's hard to say no". Ironically, Danns made his competitive début for Birmingham against Colchester on Saturday 5th August 2006.
