Neighbourhood Police Centre
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) is a mid-sized police station in Singapore, introduced in 1997 to replace the Neighbourhood Police Post (NPC) system. Based similarly on the concepts of community policing and modelled after the Koban (police box) system in Japan, it allows for police officers on the ground to perform more duties, particularly investigative work, which was previously in the hands of division-based officers.
