Negative X

Negative X is a chemical mixture that ignites in the presence of water, due to its low autoignition temperature. It burns fiercely with a brilliant green-blue color. Its composition is as follows:

Reaction Breakdown : The Ammonium chloride serves as a catalyst for the reaction between Zinc dust and Ammonium nitrate. The Ammonium nitrate acts as the oxidizer for this reaction, since the NO3 ion disintegrates into oxygen quite rapidly. Lastly, the Zinc dust serves as the fuel/Reducer for the entire mix (hence the blue-green color).
