NEFL
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The New England Football League, or NEFL, was created as an outlet for Al Bundy type "high school heroes" to relive their fading glory days by showing up at a Middle School field on Saturday afternoons in pads and pretending people care about the outcome of their contests. Much like the Arena Football League or NFL Europe, the NEFL is a proven pipeline for overlooked talent to entertain their dreams on the grand stage of the NFL. Notable NEFL alums include Byron "Steaming Willie" Beaman, inducted into the NEFL Hall of Fame in 2006, and Larry Somerville, whose HOF plaque is on hold pending his 2006 dues check clearing in a few business days.
