Necros

This article is about the punk band, The Necros. For the demoscene artist known as Necros, see Andrew Sega.

The Necros were an early hardcore punk band from Maumee, Ohio. Founded by then-teenagers Barry Henssler, Andy Wendler, and Todd Swalla around 1979. The first release was a 1981 7-inch EP titled "Sex Drive". Later that year a 9 song EP "IQ32" was released. Indicating little of the group's direction the group added Corey Rusk and the organized punk of the EP had transformed into grinding thrash for the Conquest for Death album (1983), after a hiatus and Ron Sakowski replacing Rusk the group released a more proto-grunge album with Tangled Up (1987). The final release was a live album Live or Else in 1989.

Jeff Allsop, David Cooke, Brian Hyland, Jeff Lake, and Brian Pollack also featured in the group's line-up.

Joint 12-inch EP in 1986 with White Flag to mock Jello Biafra's Los Angeles obscenity trial over Frankenchrist.
