Nea Peramos (Greek: Νέα Πέραμος), is a suburb in the west northwestern part of Athens, Greece. The suburban city is situated in the eastern portion of the Megaris plain. The mountains are situated to the north and northeast. Nea Peramos offers a panorama of the island of Salamis with its mountains and the urban area. Since 1995, Nea Peramos is accessed with its interchange about 2 km north at the 36th km with GR-8A/E94 (Athens - Corinth - Patras) (exit number 8), before the opening, the nearest interchange was in Megara. The service road runs in the northern portion while the Proastiakos runs south of the superhighway. Until the 1990s, the community and the municipality was known as Megalo Pefko ( meaning big or large pine). Beaches and hotels makes Nea Peramos famous along with tourism. Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport covers the northern portion of Spata and was sometimes known as Spata Airport. Spata is passed by a road linking west to Paiania and east to Artemida and the interchange for Attiki Odos (number 6) is located west. It is located about 8 km E of Megara, about 35 km W of Athens, about 50 km east of Corinth and S of Thiva.
The area around Nea Peramos are made up of residential and urban areas. The farmlands are around Nea Peramos are to the west while few domnates to the east. Bushes, grasslands, deforested areas cover the north and east. Most of the population are urban while the remainder are farmers. Suburban housing arrived in the 1970s and continued in the 1990s. In 1992, construction of 4 additional lanes to the superhighway began and included an interchange which was completed in 1995. The two gas stations which was Texaco at a separate distance, one was removed leaving a gasbar for the westbound lanes. A few years later, the Proastiakos line was under construction in 1999 to the east and added tracks in mid-2004. One gas bar which was connected with a highway became cut off in the late-1990s.
Nea Peramos has few schools, lyceums, a gymnasium, banks, a post office, a hospital which is Megara's closest, a train station (Athens - Corinth - Patras) and a few squares (plateies).
