Nayobe

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nayobe Catalina Gomez was born in 1968 in Brooklyn, New York to Black Cuban immigrants. In the early part of 1985 Nayobe became the first Latin American female to record a Freestyle song called "Please Don't Go" which was produced by Andy Panda. Some music critics incorrectly declare her record the first song of the genre, given the fact that Let The Music Play by Shannon was actually the first or even further back to Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force's 1982 "Planet Rock". Nayobe's other hits include "Guess I Fell In Love", "Second Chance For Love", and "Promise Me".
