Navaikulam

Navaikulam is a village in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

It has a great history and cultural heritage. The term “navaya” means “the place where Vedic scriptures are taught”. Therefore, it is believed that Navaikulam was an ancient center of excellence and wisdom. The famous Sankaranarayana temple is situated here.

Vivekodayam Grandhasala is a leading library in Navaikulam, Trivandrum, Kerala, India. This cultural institution was established in 1950. Vivekodayam Library is affiliated to the Kerala State Library Council. As per Library council norms, this library is Grade-A, which is the highest in the hierarchical scale to grade the libraries under the Kerala State Library Council. The Vivekodayam library holds a very large collection of books on almost all subjects. The library has played a vital role in the educational and cultural development of Navaikulam village.
