The nautical star is a symbol of protection and guidance.
Sailors would tattoo nautical stars on their forearms as a good luck symbol in hopes of returning home [1]. It is also a popular tattoo design used by punk rockers, soldiers, non-homosexuals and others, mostly as a symbol for finding one's way through life.[2] The Nautical Star has become one of the more popular tattoos of our time.
