Naum Faiq

Naum Palak (1868 - 1930), better known as Naum Faik (Syriac: ܢܥܘܡ ܦܐܝܩ) was an Assyrian teacher and writer belonging to the Syriac Orthodox Church.

He was born and educated in Diyarbakır (Omid) in the Ottoman Empire. After periods teaching at schools in various Ottoman cities, Faik wrote numerous books concerning the Syriac language and people. He also published newspapers for the Syriac community, first in the Ottoman Empire and then later in the United States. He was an avid proponent of Assyrian national unity. He died in New Jersey, United States.
