Talk:Natural gas vehicle

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article doesn't make it clear if NGV's or vehicles converted to run on natural gas can still burn gasoline/E85 or if the conversion is a point of no return. Due to what I believe I heard was the limited range of of NGV's, it would make sense to have gasoline/E85 as a fall back fuel for longer trips, much like Plug-In Hybrids.

Well I just checked. According to this article: [1], which I added to external links, maintaining compatibility is possible but reduces efficiency and the range deduction may not be as great as I initially thought afterall. Increased use of NGV's may be more a matter of infastructure, but that would also be an argument for gasoline/E85 compatibility - You could never be stranded without access to fuel.
