National University of St Augustin of Arequipa, known locally as Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa (UNSA) is a state-owned university in Arequipa, Peru.
UNSA, is the oldest local state university in Arequipa, Peru, and has been in continuous operation since it was founded, on Nov 11, 1828.
Currently the university is in a process of reform, due to the massive and generalized scandals of corruption involving both authorities and teachers. Student strikes are common, and teacher strikes are held very often as well, claiming a raise in their salaries.
Arequipa's principal stadium and one of the largest in Peru, Estadio de la UNSA, was built and directed by this university.
