National Off-Road Bicycle Association

NORBA or the National Off-Road Bicycle Association is the organizing body for the NORBA National Mountain Bike Series. NORBA is a division of USA Cycling, which is itself a part of Union Cycliste Internationale or UCI.

As of 2004, Lisa Nye was the President of NORBA. Jeremy Horgan-Kobleski is the cross-country athlete trustee, and Marla Streb is the gravity athlete trustee. Since cross-country riding is a sport in the Summer Olympic Games, NORBA is entrusted with running the competition to choose the U.S. athletes for that event.

NORBA runs events in the following disciplines:
- Marathon - riders compete against each other over a very long mountain course
- Stage racing - riders compete over a sequence of mountain stages
- Time Trial - riders compete against time on a mountain track
- Short Track Cross-Country - riders compete against each other on a short, hilly track
- Cross-Country - riders compete against each other on a mountain track
- Downhill - riders compete against time over a steep downhill run
- Mountain Cross (4 Cross) - riders compete in four-at-a-time races down a gravity course
