National Marathon

The National Marathon is an annual marathon foot-race held in Washington, D.C. and Prince George's County, Maryland. It was established in 2006 with the aim of being held annually from then on. It is run by the Greater Washington Sports Alliance.
The 26.2 mile course starts and finishes at the RFK Stadium and the number of participants is limited to 5,000.
Among the beneficiaries of the marathon are the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Special Olympics District of Columbia, United For D.C., Fort Dupont Ice Arena, the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation and the Black History Invitational Swim Meet.
