National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (Romanian: Alianţa Naţională a Organizaţiilor Studenţeşti din România - ANOSR) is the largest single national-level student federation in Romania. It represents over 63 organizations from cities across the country.

It has existed since 1999, but it gained legal status only in 2000. This came after a court battle which saw the Alliance's right to exist confirmed by the Supreme Court of Justice.

Over the years ANOSR has played a crucial role in defending students' rights and representing local organizations at a national level.

ANOSR is the only National Students' Union from Romania represented in the European federation ESIB. One of the members of the ESIB Executive Comittee is Viorel Proteasa, former ANOSR president.

ANOSR's headquarters are in Bucharest. The current president is Ligia Deca.

Among ANOSR's principal members are:

OSUT Timişoara

OSE Bucharest

OSUBB Cluj

LSUMC Constanţa

LSG Galaţi

OSUT Cluj

SISC Bucharest

LSUOC Constanţa

LSPV Baia Mare.
