Nathan "Karma" Cox
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nathan "Karma" Cox is mostly known for directing music videos.
Born on June 10, 1971, Nathan was always interested in movies. Around elementary school he began making films using a friend's camera and Star Wars action figures.
After making many short movies throughout high school, he went to Otis/Parsons School of Art and Design for his artwork as a graffiti artist. Even though there were not any film classes available, Nathan would turn in videos for every project assigned.
Other than directing, Nathan Cox shows a vast interest in graffiti, monsters, old horror movies, music, and has many tattoos displaying his interests. He is also good friends with Jonathan Davis, the lead singer of KoЯn, and the namesake of Jonathan's son. Other bands he has been associated with are Orgy and Coal Chamber. He is also a fan of the band Deadsy and in the "making of" featurette for Linkin Park's "In The End" video can be seen wearing a white chain as a necklace, and translating the masonic code found on one of the props. Further translation of said prop reveals the band(Deadsy)'s name as well as a few other phrases.
Though not as well known as some other music video directors, Nathan has won a couple awards including an MTV Video Music Award. He intends to make feature films in the near future.
Had trademark dreadlocks for a long time until he cut them all off.
Apparently, he has lately teamed up with director Zach Merck in a directing team called Fort Awesome. They have directed videos so far for the bands Lacuna Coil and Bleeding Through.
