Nathan Tyree

Nathan Tyree[1](Born 1973) is a writer living in southeastern Kansas. Through his career he has moved between the worlds of literary fiction, social satire and horror. His debut novel, Mr. Overby is Falling, was favorably compared to Fight Club and American Psycho. At the same time other reviewers were calling it the most disturbing book ever written, and describing it as unredeemable trash. The book was a mix of dark crime fiction, and biting social satire. His second book, The King of Citizen Bands was, at the time, a massive departure from his earlier style. It was a postmodern romance with a touch of magic realism.King of Citizen bands was an experimet in Ergodic literature The second book, as of yet, has failed to reach as wide an audience as the first. The King of Citizen Bands has only been in publication since 01/01/06.
Tyree has published fiction in a wide variety of magazines, e-zines, anthologies, and chapbooks. His credits include stories in Flesh and Blood; Bare Bone; Doorknobs and Body Paint; The Journal of Modern Post; Project Contagion; Corpse Fuck; Gorilla; The Shallow End; Lost Souls; The Lightning Journal; The Flash; MAG; The Shallow End; Dogmatika: Minimag; Star Crossed; Project Contagion; The Flash; The Empty Page: Stories inspired by Sonic Youth; Dogmatika and many others. He has developed something of a cult following, mostly in the UK.
Tyree has, in his short fiction, often worked within the Bizarro Genre. Some of this work has appeared in places such as Flesh and Blood and The Empty Page.
In late 2006 Tyree released his first E-Book, Quetzalcoatl's Blues
Tyree has also served as an editor for Literary Ezines, such as The Story Garden. Tyree was also a founding member of Author, Author, an On-line writer's workshop and forum.
