Nathan Jones (football player)

Nathan Jones (born June 13, 1982 in Scotch Plains, New Jersey) is an American football cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL . He was selected with the fourth pick in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft (pick 205) out of Rutgers University where he holds the record for the longest kickoff return in school history (100 yards), a feat he accomplished twice in his career. Jones once again etched his name in the Rutgers record books following his junior season by becoming the first player in school history to be named the Big East Conference's Co-Special Teams Player of the Year. Jones attended Scotch-Plains Fanwood High School, where he starred as a prep under head coach Steve Ciccotelli. He was also a standout track and field performer. As a senior, Jones rushed for 2,474 yards and 33 touchdowns for the Union County school.
