Nathan Hindmarsh (born 7 September 1979) is a rugby league player, playing in the NRL, for the Parramatta Eels.
Hindmarsh was born in Bowral, New South Wales. He played for the junior club, Robertson near Moss Vale.
He currently plays for the Paramatta Eels and is still considered by most to be their best player.
Formerly Hindmarsh was a great attacking player. However, his role in the side changed to a defensive player after their loss in the 2001 Grand Final in the National Rugby Lague Competition. The Grand Final was deemed to be the unlosable Grand Final and Parramatta have only reached the Preliminary Final since then. He is still capable of playing great attacking football when the need arises and as of mid season 2006 he has once again returned to playing a big role in attack under the guidance of former team mate Jason Taylor.
Hindmarsh often tops the tackle count in games and on occasion tackles until he is physically ill, as witnessed in State Of Origin 2005 when he vomited at the end of Game 2, earning himself a reputation as one of the greatest workhorses to ever play the game. Rugby Leage great Peter Sterling has said on many occasions that Nathan Hindmarsh is as good a player as the great Ray Price. He is seen as one of the best players of our time and one of the best second rowers of all time.
Nathan Hindmarsh has one son, Archie, born on January 11 2006, to his partner Bonnie Scott.
