Nassau Street is the main downtown thoroughfare of Princeton, New Jersey. As such, of all the streets in Princeton, Nassau Street is the one most often full of automobile and pedestrian traffic. It is the southernmost portion of Route 27 and ends at U.S. Route 206. The main gates of Princeton University open onto Nassau Street opposite Nassau Hall. Nassau Street hosts a plethora of high-end outlets including Banana Republic, J. Crew, and Coach. It features many places to eat: restaurants such as J. Winberie, and the Nassau Inn, an ice cream place called Thomas Sweet, and a changing variety of fast-food places. It also has practical stores such as CVS, Hinkson's and more.

The rest of downtown Princeton is found on streets off of Nassau Street such as: Witherspoon Street, Palmer Square, Chamber Street, and South Tulane Street. Independent stores on these streets (in respective order) include: Olives, Cranbury Art Gallery, The Guilded Lion, and Princeton Record Exchange.
