Narmacil I is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkiens universe of Middle-earth.

He became the seventeenth King of Gondor after the death of his father Atanatar II Alcarin in 1226 T.A.

He was as lazy as his father and was soon tired of being King and after a reign of just fourteen years surrendered practical rule to his nephew Minalcar (who would eventually become King in his own right).

After this event it is unknown whether Narmacil retained any power.

He died childless in 1294 T.A. and was succeeded by his brother Calmacil.
