Naomi Striemer

Naomi Striemer (born 1983) is a Canadian singer. From Nova Scotia, the homeschooled 23 year old was discovered following a performance at an Indigo Bookstore. She had been working the independent route after being dropped from Epic Records six years earlier.

She has received a good deal of press leading up to the release of her first album, Images, which features Carlos Santana's guitar work on the song "Cars."

Recently, on " Sounds Like Canada " CBC radio ( 11/21 2006 ), Ms. Striemer revealed that she is very protective of her voice. Her diet excludes caffeine, fizzy drinks and very hot / cold items. Concerning her childhood , she reflected on the close ties she had with nature and animals on the farm. While still 5 or 6 she sang with adults in a group. She further stated that she basically knew from an early age she wanted to be a singer ( professionally ).

She caught the attention of Billboard's Chuck Taylor, who describes her first single as "The year's most promising melodic debut...Remember the first time you heard Whitney, Mariah or Celine and recognized a star was born?"
