Nambucca Shire Council is a Local Government Area of the mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. It is on the Pacific Highway and the North Coast railway line. Nambucca Valley is noted for its scenery, surf, and relative peace as a holiday destination.
In 2001, the Shire had a population density of 11.84 per km.2 There were 954 (5.4%) indigenous persons and 14,943 (84.6%) Australian-born persons in the Shire.[3]
It includes the Nambucca River and the towns of Nambucca Heads (2001 population: 6,121), Valla (814), Macksville (2001 population: 2,658), Bowraville (2,400), Taylors Arm and Scotts Head (900).
