Nakazakicho Station

Nakazakicho Station (中崎町駅 -eki?, T19) is located on the Osaka Municipal Subway Tanimachi Line in Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan.
Nakazakicho (in Kita-ku of Osaka city) is located on the north-east side of Osaka Station (about 10 minutes on foot).
This town has escaped from war damage, remains old street of woody, tiled-roof houses, and has nostalgic ambience.
In this town are living traditional elderly people, and on the other hand, youngsters began to renovate old houses and run a café, boutique, clothing shop, gallery, beauty parlor etc. Nowadays, from 50 to 60 shops are scattered in the residential block.
This town is right by Chayamachi area accumulated with large commercial architecture, but the rent is not so high, and many shop owners borrow real-estate property at a reasonable rent by negotiating to house owner directly. And many shop owners renovated their shops by themselves and hold down initial cost, so many shops continue in several years. Some of them run the shop while living upstairs, and some of them while having main business. People who run a shop in this town have the motivation of self expression, and embody the style of slow life. Nakazakicho, equipped with many shops dispatching various cultures, is the area which creates the charm of One Cultural Complex itself.
