Naivasha is a market town in Rift Valley Province, Kenya, lying north west of Nairobi. It is located on the shore of Lake Naivasha and along the Nairobi - Nakuru highway and Uganda Railway.

Naivasha is part of the Nakuru District. The town has an urban population of 14,563 (1999 census). [1] The coordinates of Naivasha, Kenya are: 0°43′12.85″S, 36°25′42.71″E.

The main industry is agriculture, especially floriculture.

Naivasha is also a popular tourist destination. Hell's Gate National Park, Longonot National Park and Mount Longonot are nearby attractions. Tours also have included Lake Naivasha, to observe birdlife and hippopotamus behavior, [2] as well as other wild animals.
