Nahiya

Nahiya or Nahia( Arabic: ناحية, plural Nawahi) is a term for an administrative unit used in Syria and Iraq. It is a second-level country subdivision. It contains a number of villages and sometimes a small town, and it constitutes a part of a qadaa or mintaqah (district). Nahiya can be translated as subdistrict.
