Nacional Atlético Clube, usually known simply as Nacional, is a Brazilian football team, from the city of São Paulo, São Paulo state.

On February 16, 1919, Nacional Atlético Clube was founded [1] by São Paulo Railway Company employees. The club was named São Paulo Railway Atlético Clube. [2] [3] Instead of,São Paulo Railway made the first football match in Brasil in 1895, against Companhia de Gás employees,winning with a 4x2 result. At this date Charles William Miller played at São Paulo Railway team.
In 1936, the club joined the Paulista Football League, disputing that year's Campeonato Paulista. The club finished in the 9th position. [2]
In 1939, São Paulo Railway finished in Campeonato Paulista's 4th position, only behind Corinthians, Palestra Itália and Portuguesa. [2]
In 1943, SPR won their first tie tournament, winning the Torneio Início Paulista.
In 1946, the club was renamed to Nacional Atlético Clube, because the São Paulo Railway concession ended. Nacional's first match with its new name was against Flamengo at Pacaembu Stadium. Flamengo beat Nacional 4-2. [2]
In 1972, Nacional won the Copa São Paulo de Juniores [4], beating Internacional in the final [5]
In 1988, Nacional won again the Copa São Paulo de Juniores, beating América (SP) in the final. [6]
In 1994, the club won the Campeonato Paulista Third Division. [1]
In 1995, Nacional disputed the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, but was eliminated in the first stage. [7]
In 1998, the club disputed again the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. Again, Nacional was eliminated in the first stage. [8]
In 2000, Nacional won the Campeonato Paulista Série A-3. [1]. The club also disputed the Copa João Havelange White Module and was eliminated in the first stage. [9]
